Alan Hopgood

Alan Hopgood was an actor who graced the silver screen many times throughout his Hollywood career. Hopgood found his footing in the industry as a screenwriter by penning scripts for such comedy movies as "Alvin Purple" (1974) with Graeme Blundell and Abigail, "Alvin Rides Again" (1974) with Graeme Blundell and the Max Gillies film "The True Story of Eskimo Nell" (1974). He also appeared in "Pacific Banana" (1981). Hopgood additionally acted in "My Brilliant Career" (1980) with Judy Davis and the Brooke Shields romance "The Blue Lagoon" (1980). He kept working in film throughout the eighties, starring in "Road Games" (1981) with Stacy Keach Sr., "Ground Zero" (1988) and the adventure sequel "Return to Snowy River Part II, The Legend Continues" (1988) with Tom Burlinson. Toward the end of his career, he tackled roles in "Rikky and Pete" (1988), the Aden Young comedy "Hotel de Love" (1997) and the Nicolas Cage thriller "Knowing" (2009). He also had a part in the TV miniseries "Sword of Honour" (1989-1990). Hopgood most recently acted in "Not Quite Hollywood: The Wild, Untold Story of Ozploitation" (2009). Alan Hopgood died on March 19, 2022 at the age of 87.
