Moon, Star and Sun

An unbeatable triumvirate of actresses stars in Moon, Star & Sun, a harrowing drama depicting the lives of Hong Kong club hostesses. Maggie Cheung is May, a neophyte club girl whose initiation to the world of PR Girls comes with its share of troubles. She's assigned to share an apartment with veterans Gigi (Cherie Chung) and Porsche (Carol Cheng), who each have their own personal issues with the profession. Gigi has a husband in jail, and is also notorious for cheating her customers, a habit that leads her into conflict with a pair of tough triads. Meanwhile, Porsche is aging, and no longer brings in the customers like she used to. An old flame offers to take her away from the life, but is the offer too good to be true? May learns from her friends' experiences, but even their wise advice doesn't stop her from falling in love. But can a PR Girl really find genuine love in her seedy profession? Director Michael Mak (Sex and Zen) gets great performances out of his leading actresses, who light up the screen with true-to-character performances.
