Les Miserables

In 1815, the people of France try to recover from the brutal defeat at the battle of Waterloo. Ex-convict Jean Valjean makes an enemy of the unwavering guard Inspector Javert, while seamstress Fantine is taken in by the charming Felix.

Fantine departs from Paris to find work, and is forced to make a difficult decision to give her daughter a better chance in life. Meanwhile, Jean Valjean begins living with a new identity, but Javert is set on catching him out.

Jean Valjean is forced to reveal his true identity, and makes a vow to find Cosette before he finds himself imprisoned again.

Jean Valjean and Cosette set out to begin a new life in Paris, despite Jean's concerns. Jean is on edge when Cosette meets a young man.

A revolt is on the horizon in Paris, as unrest spreads among the working class and students. Despite the troubles, Javert tries even harder to track down Jean Valjean.

The conflict becomes more and more desperate, as the revolutionaries and the army get ready for the next fight. At the same time, Jean Valjean stumbles upon Marius at the barricade, torn over his feelings.
