A young girl is found dead at a bus stop outside a Direct Provision Centre for asylum seekers. A team of detectives, led by Inspector Jen Rooney, begin an investigation into the refugee centre where the victim lived.

As suspicion mounts on those in the centre, there are signs that Esme may have been secretly working before she died. The police search for Flora, another girl who has disappeared from the same centre.

Abeni comes to fear those she works for at the brothel and is too scared to tell the police; Flora escapes from the care home she has been placed in.

The police put Abeni under surveillance as her bosses at the brothel begin to treat her differently at work. Abeni begins to fear for her life and Flora is subjected to horrors.

The police discover new leads in the wake of their raid on the brothel and Abeni begins to confess what she knows. The gang are rebuilding their business unseen.

Abeni must decide if helping find Flora, Hope and Nina will be too great a risk for her family. As forensics examine the old brothel, Jen's team discover how she was killed. Finally, the truth of Esme's final moments are revealed.
