Taking the Fall
Available on Prime Video, Tubi TV
Tyler returns from a six year prison sentence for a surprise reunion with his former college friends to discover that they've all veered off course under the pressure of millennial culture. Weighed down by the combination of college debt, hefty living costs, and the dawn of social media, this generation is overworked, underpaid, and quite simply: stuck. Tyler has also been stuck: stuck in prison. To give his closest friends a chance to fulfill their dreams, Tyler “took the fall” for a college party that got too out of hand. The bigger surprise to Tyler, however, is how distant the group has grown and how much each individual has changed. Over the course of a tense dinner party, Tyler tries to come to terms with their constant complaining, sense of entitlement, and downright angst as he can’t believe how far off-course they’ve all veered under societal pressure. Being imprisoned in your mind and literally being in prison might not be as far from one another as we think, or are we simply trained to take our freedom for granted, our own willpower and ability to make conscious decisions for granted? This isn't your every day Millennial fairy tale.
