Locked up after a drug deal goes wrong, David Slaney (Allan Hawco), a Newfoundland drug dealer, makes a daring break from a New Brunswick prison to attempt one more deal with his former partner, while RCMP detective Roy Patterson (Paul Gross) is hot on his heels.
On the run from the cops, David Slaney (Allan Hawco) is sent to Montreal by Brian Hearn (Eric Johnson) to pick up money for a potential new deal. Complications arise when some extreme personal baggage is exposed between Hearn and Slaney. And things get worse when an old business acquaintance starts up trouble.
Slaney (Allan Hawco) and Tommy (Julian Black Antelope) conjure their own plans against Hearn (Eric Johnson). Meanwhile, Hearn is in Mexico awaiting Slaney’s arrival and preparing for an upcoming drug deal. Finally, Slaney (Allan Hawco) and Hearn (Eric Johnson) are reunited in Cancun for the first time since Slaney’s jail sentence five years ago. Things escalate quickly as RCMP detective Patterson (Paul Gross) and KC (Enuka Okuma) decide to follow Slaney and go undercover in order to finally capture Hearn.
Reunited at last in Mexico, Slaney (Allan Hawco), and Hearn (Eric Johnson) prepare to meet with a new supplier. Hearn enlists the help of Ada (Tori Anderson) to uncover what Slaney’s real intentions are as well as keep an eye on him. Tensions run high as Slaney, Patterson (Paul Gross) and KC (Enuka Okuma) attempt to keep their motives and true identities under wraps.
Slaney heads to Columbia with Ada to pick up Hearn’s money. With the DEA and the RCMP closing in on them, Slaney and Hearn face off in the explosive season one finale.
