Lost in Africa
Simon, 11, a black adopted boy and soccer enthusiast, travels back to Kenya with his Danish mother Susanne (Connie Nielsen). Soon after arriving, Simon loses his beloved soccer ball. When he tries to find it, he gets lost in the biggest city-slum in Africa. Dressed in trendy shoes and fancy clothes he clearly stands out, but after he gets mugged he looks like any other African boy. Distraught, Susanne announces a reward in the media. With a price on his head, Simon now must be careful in the slum alleyways – to avoid the conspiring hunters he now needs all the help he can get from his new friends. Lost in Africa simultaneously opens the world to children, and explores the more intricate dynamics of friendship and belonging.
