Bill Anderson

Bill Anderson was a country singer who took country music to a whole new level. He appeared in a number of television specials, including "Country Night of the Stars I" (1977-78), "Johnny Cash: The First 25 Years" (CBS, 1979-1980) and "Country Comes Home" (CBS, 1980-81). He also appeared in "Roy Acuff -- 50 Years the King of Country Music" (NBC, 1981-82). Anderson also contributed music to "Stranger on the Run" (NBC, 1967-68). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "The 60th Anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry" (1985-86), "The Grand Ole Opry 65th Anniversary Celebration: The New Tradition" (CBS, 1990-91) and "Hats Off to Minnie Pearl: America Honors Minnie Pearl" (The Nashville Network, 1992-93). He also appeared in "America's Music: The Roots of Country" (TBS, 1995-96) and "Grand Ole Opry Musical Salute to Minnie Pearl" (CBS, 1995-96). Anderson also created music for "Missing" (1982) with Jack Lemmon. Additionally, he could be seen on a variety of television specials like "Country's Family Reunion" (1997-98), "Christmas Country's Family Reunion" (The Nashville Network, 1998-99) and "Country's Family Reunion: Gospel" (The Nashville Network, 1998-99). He also appeared in "Grand Ole Opry 75th -- A Celebration" (CBS, 2000-01). Anderson most recently appeared on "The Grand Ole Opry: 75 Years of America's Music" (2000-01).
