Chigley

Dr. Mopp calls at the Chigley Pottery to buy a vase for his sister, he gets a demonstration of how a potter uses his wheel. Lord Belborough arrives in Bessie to collect a crate of pottery, then goes with him to Treddles wharf, he then picks up a mysterious crate.

Farmer Bell makes delivery to the Chigley biscuit factory, he gets a tour of the factory. A box of biscuits meant for delivery has been forgotten. Trumpton is very busy this time of day and it is too late to take it by road to Wintelbury station, in time for the train to London.

The Mayor returns Lord Belborough his book. They talk about how to raise money for the old peoples' holiday fund but can’t think of anything. They come up with the idea of a balloon ride when Winnie's balloon bursts on Bessie's stack.

At Chigley Pottery, Mr. Farthing tells P.C. McGarry that there is not much demand for stone sculptures these days. When McGarry visits the biscuit factory, he suggests to Mr. Cresswell that a stone fountain would look nice.

When Lord Belborough takes delivery of a new lawnmower, he accidentally sends it crashing into his garden wall. He asks Mr. Clutterbuck, the builder, to come and rebuild it. But a delivery of bricks is waiting at Treddles Wharf.

Roger Varley arrives at Winkstead Hall to clean Bessie and Binnie. Roger is cleaning Binnie when Brackett the butler comes over to tell him the water level in Winkstead Hall is very low. The only way to pump the water is to burn coal to get the pumping engine going, but there is no coal left. They will have to pick it up form Treadles Wharf.
