Eurovision Song Contest
Broadcast every year since it began in 1956 - and taking place in the defending champion's country - the Eurovision Song Contest features member countries in the European Broadcasting Union submitting songs to be performed on live television, and each member country casts votes for the other countries' songs to determine the most popular entry.
