Gormenghast

Drama series based on the fantasy novels of Mervyn Peake, beginning as downtrodden kitchen boy Steerpike begins undermining the ancient Groan family to further his own ends.

Steerpike rescues young Lord Titus and his family from Lord Groan's blazing library, while Swelter decides the time has come to settle his differences with Flay once and for all.

Titus begins his education, while Steerpike becomes apprentice to Barquentine, master of the castle's rituals, and decides to settle a few old scores, starting by murdering Granny Slagg.

Prunesquallor lays his suspicions before Lady Groan, while Flay returns from exile and joins forces with Titus to defeat Steerpike, whose machinations have left him close to madness.
