Joanna's first view of Paris is from a hot air balloon. She visits the damaged Notre-Dame, meets the heiress Daphne Guinness, buys a vintage Chanel suit and meets Ibrahim, a refugee turned inner-city beekeeper.

Joanna's visit to Rome includes the Trevi Fountain, a meeting with a famous paparazzo, the privilege of unlocking the Sistine Chapel with its single key, and meeting famous movie star Gina Lollobrigida at Bulgari's flagship store.

Joanna Lumley visits Berlin and heads for the Festival of Lights, meets an all-female motorcycle club and visits a replica of a western town. Her travels also take her to a famous photographer who documented life in Soviet-controlled East Berlin and finally she meets Holocaust survivor, Frau Friedlander.
