John Torode's Korean Food Tour

It's the height of summer in Seoul and John puts his own spin on Korean ginseng chicken soup and iced noodles. Afterwards, he cools down with pat bingsu, a shaved ice dessert.

Inspired by the pancakes in Gwanjang market, John serves up dishes using Korean vegetables, including a tasty Kimchi pancake, and learns how to make tofu.

In his Seoul kitchen, John recreates his own version of a bibimpap, one of Korea's top national dishes. He also adapts an ancient royal recipe to make a juicy galbi burger.

John visits the biggest fish market in South Korea. Up in the mountains, he steams a sea bass with aromats. Back in his Seoul kitchen, John makes prawn gimbap and his own version of seafood pancake.

John celebrates the Korean harvest by sampling a delicious soy sauce, making japchae - a famous dish with sweet potato noodles - and learning how to beat rice.

John's adventure leads him to superfood staple kimchi. He heads to Mangwon Market in Seoul where he's confronted with hundreds of different varieties.
