Penguin Books and Jamie Oliver search for a new cookbook author in a unique competition. The first six cooks prepare a dish that best explains the concept and appeal of their potential book idea.
The second set of cooks pitch their dish and cookbook ideas to the judges. The pitches including one dedicated to lasagnes, one celebrating seasonal produce and one offering easy Asian-inspired recipes.
The third set of cooks pitch their cookbook ideas to the judges, the cookbooks range from promoting unsung ingredients and crusading against food waste, to seeking inspiration from both travels and closer to home.
The six remaining cooks make a quick weeknight meal and a weekend feast, in a bid to impress the judges and prove that their cookbook idea has the recipe for success. The dishes will undergo further scrutiny in a twist that leaves the cooks shocked.
The remaining five cooks create two dishes that are judged on how they look when professionally photographed, and how they rate on Jamie's social media snap poll. Then it's up to judges to decide who will be eliminated from the competition.
It's semi-final week, and the remaining cooks take on more challenges. Their first challenge tests how they cope with cooking under the pressure of a live cooking demonstration. They then cook a meal to be photographed for a double-page spread.
