Jonas Schulman leads a quiet life in the town of Slusvik, until his past comes to light.

Jonas tries to continue his life normally but getting rid of Geir proves to be the least of his problems; Jonas has lost Sofie's cat, Kasper, and Elin begins to notice his strange behavior.

A girl's body appears lifeless, and the community is terrified; Jonas fears an investigation and does everything possible to turn off the fires; meanwhile, Sofie gets into trouble at school.

Months later, the discovery of a blood-stained shoe re-opens the case.

After finding the shoe, special researcher Marius Borge gets involved in the case.

The Kasper cat dies and Sofie wants to take revenge on those responsible for his death.
