Brackett and Early (Robert Fuller and Bobby Troup), aided by Nurse Mc Call (Julie London), work desperately to save a 7-year-old girl, victim of an auto crash caused by a drunken driver, in "Peace Pipe," on "Emergency! ''. Paramedics Gage and DeSoto (Randolph Mantooth and Kevin Tighe) send the drunken driver to Rampart and rush little Debbie to the emergency wing. The paramedics rescue a man from a scaffolding and become targets of a sniper. Gage, in a friendly feud with fireman Chet Kelly, defends his Indian blood and they settle their differences with an old Indian custom.
