Moon Hooch: Live at the Cathedral
In just a few short years, the explosive horn-and-percussion trio Moon Hooch—Mike Wilbur (horns), Wenzl McGowen (horns), and James Muschler (drums)—has taken their exhilarating blend of virtuosic jazz, groovy funk, and pulse-pounding electronic dance music from the New York City subway system to stages around the world, touring with the likes of Beats Antique, They Might Be Giants, and Lotus among others, as well as earning status as festival favorites and selling out headline shows in major venues. On October 23, 2015, Moon Hooch performed live inside The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York City, the world's largest Anglican church. The band's performance was part of The Value of Food, a large multimedia exhibition and series of public programming, in keeping with the Cathedral's long history of engagement with issues of social justice, the environment, support for the arts, and community involvement--all subjects of great importance to Moon Hooch. This historic event was recorded and filmed and is presented here as the band's first official live CD & DVD release.
