In this special Olympic-themed episode, a Cloud 9 Olympics promotion gives Amy (America Ferrera) the chance to meet her childhood hero, gold medal-winning gymnast Missy Jones (special guest star Cecily Strong, "SNL"), who proves to be a little too inspirational. Meanwhile, storewide "Olympic fever" causes Glenn (Mark McKinney) to have some difficulty balancing his extreme patriotism, Jonah (Ben Feldman) to learn a secret about Mateo's (Nico Santos) past and Dina (Lauren Ash) strives to create a "closing ceremony" her colleagues will never forget. Special appearances by Olympic gold medalists Apolo Anton Ohno, Tara Lipinski and McKayla Maroney. Colton Dunn and Nichole Bloom also star.
After a group of Cloud 9 employees walk out to protest Glenn's (Mark McKinney) firing in last season's finale, Amy (America Ferrera) convinces her co-workers to turn the walkout into a full-fledged strike. Jonah (Ben Feldman) tries to make the most of his one year of business school by joining Amy in negotiating with corporate. Almost immediately the ambitious Mateo (Nico Santos) regrets going on strike and sneaks back into the store to impress Jeff (recurring guest star Michael Bunin), the district manager corporate sent to manage the store during the crisis. Dina (Lauren Ash) is also determined to impress Jeff as she's trying to be renamed assistant manager, and Garrett (Colton Dunn) meets a beautiful woman on the picket line who proves too good to be true. Nichole Bloom also stars.
Jeff (recurring guest star Michael Bunin), the district manager from corporate, tells the Cloud 9 employees he is going to be around for the day to see what can improve in the store. Amy (America Ferrera) tries to impress him with a perfect day, but a workplace accident threatens her plan. Meanwhile, Glenn (Mark McKinney) tries to come off as a tough boss in front of Jeff, Jonah (Ben Feldman) attempts to help an unyielding Dina (Lauren Ash) win over the employees she betrayed in the strike and Mateo (Nico Santos) discovers something about Jeff in his pursuit to win him over.
When Amy (America Ferrera) assigns an uncomfortable Jonah (Ben Feldman) to the gun section of Cloud 9, Jonah abuses his right-to-refuse sale to anyone that causes concern, causing an open-carry protest to gather in the store. On principle, Glenn (Mark McKinney) attempts to purchase all of the store's morning-after pills, but finds himself in a moral dilemma when he can't afford them. Dina (Lauren Ash), Garrett (Colton Dunn) and Mateo (Nico Santos) hunt down a crow that has flown into the store.
When Cloud 9's spokesman is accused of a heinous crime, Glenn (Mark McKinney) worries that he doesn't know enough about his employees and Dina (Lauren Ash) exploits his concerns by carrying out storewide drug testing. Meanwhile, Amy (America Ferrera) and Jonah (Ben Feldman) have a fun, flirty day avoiding work and daring each other with a series of pranks; Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom) can't stop talking about her baby, which annoys Garrett (Colton Dunn); and Mateo (Nico Santos) continues to look for romance in his ambiguous relationship with Jeff (recurring guest star Michael Bunin).
After new parents Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom) and Bo (recurring guest star Johnny Pemberton) get into a fight, Amy (America Ferrera) and Glenn (Mark McKinney) take vastly different approaches in giving them advice. Meanwhile, Mateo (Nico Santos) and Jonah (Ben Feldman) get assigned to handle dog adoptions in the store and work feverishly to get all of the dogs adopted once they find out what will happen to the dogs if they don't. Dina (Lauren Ash) refuses to adjust Garrett's (Colton Dunn) timecard based on "store rules," leaving Garrett happy to taunt Dina in revenge.
