Amah Knows Best

South African rapper iFani loves eating Chinese food. With the help of the People's Daily, a plan is devised for him to learn to cook from the Kung Fu masters of the kitchen, Chinese grannies. Before meeting Amah (granny) he explores Shanghai.

iFani starts the day late & gets ready to cook with an Amah who has a 100-year-old recipe to share. After learning how to make the dish, he and Lily, his guide go to visit the brilliantly lighted landmark called the Bund where he's introduced to Hot Pot.

iFani wants to explore and shop for the ingredients for today's dish on his own. He gets lost and disappoints Lily. Due to his late arrival, the Amah has left and no longer wants to teach iFani how to cook. Instead, Lily and Ifani cook together.

iFani visits a monastery looking for a solution to always running late. At his cooking lesson, he arrives on time and is quickly enamored by his beautiful Amah. iFani feels like he has left his tardy issues behind and is confident he has made Lily proud.

Ifani meets his new guide Lisa and informs her that it is his son's birthday. The two visit a famous noodle bar, as it is an ancient Chinese custom to eat noodles to celebrate birthdays. iFani ends the day with Karaoke and singing a song.

iFani & Lisa explore the area surrounding the Qinghai River. iFani visits a Chinese supermarket for ingredients for the dish he is cooking with Amah. While iFani must prepare for the next city on his adventure, he leaves a piece of his heart in Nanjing.
