When Talitha Campbell, daughter of one of Britain’s wealthiest families, is arrested for the murder of working-class student Hannah Ellis, the stage is set for a court case that will divide the nation. Can solicitor Cleo protect her client as new evidence emerges?
Cassidy tries to convince the CPS to charge Talitha, but pressure from Cleo and new information threaten to derail her case. Cleo compromises her professionalism with Talitha and considers striking a deal with Damian that could prove mutually beneficial. Meanwhile, the police track down a third suspect who introduces a new theory about what happened on the night of the ball.
After Talitha and Dhillon are charged with Hannah’s murder, all the legal teams must prepare for trial. Cleo and Brian find evidence implicating Dhillon, but Meera soon manages to turn things around and dredge up some more salacious aspects of Talitha’s history.
