Welcome to Los Angeles, circa 1982, during the rock 'n' roll, cocaine-infused revelry of the Sunset Strip. But all is not glitter as there's a serial killer on the loose, and two detectives find themselves on one of the toughest cases of their careers, on the series premiere.

Paco and Jack race to find the serial killer's next possible victim before it's too late; Kent struggles after realizing that Betty doesn't trust him.

Betty struggles with the truth about Kent; Jack and Paco identify the corpse found in the floorboards, which leads them to a huge discovery.

Jack looks into a woman from the killer's past; Betty and Kent go to a club in search of a victim; Karen receives a job offer; a menacing former flame tries to reconnect with Betty.

When Betty introduces Kent to her children, Jimmy endangers her relationship by blackmailing her; Jack and Paco continue their investigation and find evidence inside Kent's auto shop; Jack and Diane explore their feelings for each other.

Jack and Paco identify Kent as the killer; Kent breaks up with Betty and the two try to conceal their identities; Karen receives an ominous phone call from Kent during a live television interview.
