Tawny Newsome

Tawny is a sketch and improv comedian, appearing as Chelsea Leight-Leigh in the Seeso Original series 'Bajillion Dollar Propertie$', as Grace in TvLand's 'Nobodies', as Nina in the upcoming 'Comedy Get Down' on BET, and as a frequent contributor on improv podcasts 'Comedy Bang! Bang!' and 'Spontaneanation with Paul F. Tompkins'. Previously guest starring in NBC's 'Chicago Fire,' USA's 'Sirens' and Fox's 'Crisis,' Tawny cultivated a cool trend of only appearing on TV while inside an ambulance. Before LA, she had mainly been writing and performing her work on the Second City Mainstage in Chicago. She's also starred in Second City collaborations such as 'The Art of Falling' with Hubbard Street Dance, and 'The Second City's Guide to the Opera', starring Patrick Stewart. Other regional credits include: 'The Upstairs Concierge,' a world premiere at the Goodman Theatre, as well as productions at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and Writer's Theatre. Oh, hey, and another thing about her is her band! Jon Langford and Skull Orchard has two albums that you can buy and listen to: 'Old Devils' and 'Here Be Monsters' (Bloodshot Records). Recently she had the pleasure of recording an album in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and the eponymous 'Four Lost Souls' release and subsequent tour is happening this October 2017. If you aren't sick of her yet, her solo album 'Too Proud to Steal' is available on iTunes, Spotify and bandcamp.
