On the set of an epic period drama, Andy befriends 'EastEnders' actor Ross Kemp, only to find that Kemp's braggadocio doesn't sit well with soccer star Vinnie Jones, who's shooting on an adjacent set.

The tragic story of a man whose wife was killed in Bosnia is being brought to the screen--with a superstar actor directing. Andy attempts to parlay his friendship with the real-life widower--a consultant on the set--into a speaking role on the film.

Series premiere. On the set of a Holocaust film set in a nunnery, Andy and the film's star, Kate Winslet, become privy to Maggie's latest secret--that her new boyfriend Mike has a phone-sex fetish. Meanwhile, to get a date with an extra named Suzanne, Andy resorts to lying about his religious beliefs after being questioned by Suzanne's sister Francesca, who has cerebral palsy.

Andy's agent finally gets his client a speaking role--playing a gay genie in a stage adaptation of 'Aladdin.' Despite Andy's best thespian efforts, the play crashes after its star, TV game-show personality Les Dennis, learns from Andy that his hot fiancee has been fooling around with a stagehand. Meanwhile, Maggie is caught in the middle of a father-daughter rift.

While Maggie is doing everything possible to sabotage her romance with a handsome African-American actor, Andy is badgered into having dinner with a fellow middle-aged extra whose dour company he despises.

In the Season One finale, on the set of an Elizabethan period piece, Andy pitches a sitcom-pilot script to Patrick Stewart, who exposes a new side of his personality. Later, after surviving his agent's ineptitude, Andy nearly undermines a promising relationship at the BBC, blaming the incident on the artless Maggie.
