Ted and Barney get involved in a fight at their local bar to experience one and impress Robin respectively. Their friend Doug does all the fighting, but allows Barney and Ted to take credit in the fight.

Lily gets a touch of the green eyes when Marshall goes on his first date after their split, and Marshall's date has her own ocular problem, `crazy eyes'.

Lily and Marshall are dismayed when they hear that Ted is meeting up with his college girlfriend Karen who they find pretentious. Meanwhile, Barney plays a prank on Marshall which embarrasses him and Lily.

Lily and Marshall tire of Ted's intrusion on their personal space and look for a new flat, and Marshall is delighted when he falls in love with the first flat he sees. Lily can't share in Marshall's joy because she knows they won't be able to afford it because of her hefty credit card bills.
