Together they encounter their new prison mates, but each with different experiences. Early on, the Sona inmates set out to humiliate Bellick, whilst the prison's `kingpin', Lechero, sets his sights on Scofield and looks to cause the worst kind of trouble for him.

Melinda realises that one of the voices is from the mother of a troubled teenage boy who is trying to reach out to her son. Faced with the challenge of trying to interpret `white noise', Melinda must figure out a way to piece together the messages.
