Tamer Hassan

Tamer Hassan is an English actor with a hearty taste for the rough and tumble that extends from his life to his work. In addition to running restaurants and night clubs, Hassan also owns a football club and a boxing gym, two passions seen in several of his movie roles. After making his 2002 debut on television and in a film short, he had a thoroughly productive feature film debut year in 2004, beginning with a part in the boxing mockumentary "The Calcium Kid," starring Orlando Bloom. That year, he also co-starred in the Nick Love crime drama "The Football Factory," a tale of fight-hungry English soccer fanatics, followed by a role in director Matthew Vaughn's crime thriller "Layer Cake," with Daniel Craig and Colm Meaney, in the story of a cocaine dealer who's handed a couple last-minute assignments just before his retirement. Hassan later teamed up with Vaughn again for a smaller role in the 2010 comic book super-hero comedy, "Kick-Ass." His other American efforts range from parts in David Cronenberg's dark, Russian mobster mystery "Eastern Promises" (2007) to the 2010 remake of the blockbuster action fantasy "Clash of the Titans." That same year, the bodyguard-sized Hassan starred in two other movies closer to his tough guy-ish sweet spot: the small, undercover cop crime film "Jack Falls" and the English mob movie "Bonded By Blood." Hassan's television work has included appearances on the classic English drama "EastEnders," and an episode of the United States hit "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service."
