Aspiring editor Lucy Stanbridge (Aubrey Plaza) desperately needs a bestseller to save the sinking publishing house she inherited from her father. When she discovers the company is owed a book by Harris Shaw (Michael Caine), the reclusive and cantankerous author who originally put the company on the map, she looks to him for one last stab at salvation – resulting in the book tour from hell. When his drunken outburst at an event goes viral, Harris’s book sales take off. As the tour grows bigger, Lucy and Harris grow closer, but little does she know that he will soon reveal a truth that will change her world forever.
