A veteran American soldier leads his team into the Nigerian jungle to rescue a female doctor stranded by a civil war that has seen democracy crushed by a dictatorship. She insists she will only go with them if he agrees to rescue 70 refugees too, but he faces some awkward decisions when the group is attacked by rebels with orders to kill a prominent member of the former ruling party amongst their number.
