Maria Howell

Maria Howell was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. She also starred in the TV movies "Linda" (USA, 1993-94) and "Scattered Dreams: The Kathryn Messenger Story" (CBS, 1993-94). She also acted in various movies at the time, including "The Closest Thing to Heaven" (1997) and the Gabrielle Union romance "Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls" (2007). She continued to work steadily in television dramas throughout the early 2000s and the 2010s, appearing on "Vampire Diaries" (CW, 2009-17), "Past Life" (Fox, 2009-2010) and "Detroit 1-8-7" (ABC, 2010-11). As her entertainment career progressed, she appeared in the Sandra Bullock smash hit dramatic adaptation "The Blind Side" (2009). Howell focused on film in more recent years, appearing in the Jennifer Lawrence smash hit fantasy sequel "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" (2013), "Addicted" (2014) with Sharon Leal and "Christmas Wedding Baby" (2014). She also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Devious Maids" (Lifetime, 2012-16). Howell most recently acted in the drama "The Good Lie" (2014) with Reese Witherspoon.
