Patrick Massett

Versatile actor, writer, director and producer Patrick Massett is best known for his work on the series "Friday Night Lights" and "Caprica." He began his career as an actor in the late 1980s, making his screen debut in the TV film "Police Story: Burnout" and his feature debut a year later via "Dad." In 2001, along with writing partner John Zinman, Massett wrote the screenplay for the film "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" before working on the 2003 series "Veritas: The Quest." Massett wrote 13 episodes and served as executive producer on the show as well. In 2006 Massett began work on the most acclaimed series of his career, writing numerous episodes of "Friday Night Lights," for which he also served as a consulting producer and co-executive producer. Massett was nominated for four Writers Guild of America Awards for his work on "Friday Night Lights." In 2007 Massett wrote and executive produced the TV film "The Cure" before starting work on the NBC series "Knight Rider." He served as consulting producer and writer on the series before helming the short film "The Seer" in 2009. In 2010 he joined the spinoff "Battlestar Galactica" series "Caprica," serving as co-executive producer and writer for two episodes.
