S1, E3: Nina is looking after Joe as his eyes have become sore. The doctor has instructed him not to get too agitated, but this is proving hard whilst listening to an exciting cricket match on the radio. Instead, Nina tries to get away with reading him a Thomas Hardy book, one Nunney lent her, pretending it’s by his favourite author Enid Blyton. Later Nina helps George pass on their cat to an elderly lady. During the week a series of coincidental encounters with Nunney convince Nina that their relationship must be fated. Joe suddenly becomes very ill that evening and George and Nina rush him to hospital.
