Maja receives news of the death of her estranged father, who banished her from his life when she was a child. She is to inherit the island where she was once happy. Initially reluctant to accept the inheritance, Maja intends to decline. However, her boyfriend, Peter, persuades her to visit the island one last time before it's sold.
