In 2022, the illegal drugs trade was estimated to be worth $250 billion worldwide. Traffickers of marijuana, cocaine, heroin, fentanyl and amphetamines make huge profits by buying raw materials in poor countries and reselling processed products to consumers everywhere. Mapping the World focuses on the production and shifting smuggling routes of this illicit trade.
