John Copeland

John Copeland is a television producer known for his work on the "Babylon 5" sci-fi series. Copeland began his show-business career as a post-production supervisor during the 1980s, most notably on the made-for-TV Western movie "The Cherokee Trail." In the mid-'80s, Copeland worked his way up to associate producer contributing to the toy-inspired show "Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future." "Babylon 5" debuted in '93 with the movie-length pilot entitled "The Gathering," and the full series followed, with Copeland serving as producer, and, on few episodes, director. He also had a hand in "Babylon 5" productions outside of the regular program, including "Babylon 5: The River of Souls" and "Babylon 5: A Call to Arms." In '99, Copeland produced "Crusade," a similarly themed show set in outer space, but the series was cancelled during its first season. Copeland has also worked as producer on numerous made-for-TV documentaries, including "When Dinosaurs Ruled America," "Secrets of Pearl Harbor," and "Faces of Earth."
