Fallet

An assassination in the British city of St. Ives shakes the little Swedish town of Norrbacka. Detective Sophie Borg from Stockholm partners with Tom Brown from the St. Ives police unit to solve the case.

Sophie and Tom question anyone who participated in the language course in 1982. When Sophie gets a tip that Arne, the richest man in Norrbacka, is up to something she defies her boss's orders.

Disregarding orders, Sophie and Tom break into the home of a potential suspect and interrupt a rather particular religious ritual.

Sophie and Tom suspect that an addict is behind the murder. A dairy company travels between St. Ives and Norrbacka. Arne Arnesen, who owns the dairy company, comes in for questioning.

Tom and Sophie travel to St. Ives to question the victim's widow; journalist Hannes Josefsson goes to Norrbacka and is able to acquire information that leads to the murderer.

Hannes's body is found and Sophie's ex-husband Amir is arrested. Everyone thinks he's the killer, so the case seems to be closed. Tom and Sophie must now return to their respective homes in St. Ives and Stockholm, but suddenly Tom finds something.
