American adventurer Hooten meets Lady Alex Lindo-Parker, a curator for the British Museum, as she searches for the missing remains of an Edwardian explorer. As the pair battle through a snake-filled jungle they end up discovering the greatest prize of all!

Alex and her mother are in Rome wedding dress shopping when Hooten crashes the event and asks Alex to help him find a precious book which he has been asked to find by an important figure from his past.

Alex’s colleagues, Clive and Ella, question her judgement in bringing Hooten on-board after he causes international havoc while searching for Alexander the Great’s tomb. When Hooten becomes distracted, Alex finds herself dealing with a secret death cult!

Alex and Hooten find themselves in Bhutan on the hunt for the only scroll rumoured to have been written by Buddha himself. When Hooten finds himself in grave danger he reveals details about his past, and we meet Ed, Alex’s fiancé.

Inspired by Alex’s adventure’s, Ella decides to track down the Queen of Sheba’s lost treasure while on holiday. However, things don’t go quite to plan and Alex goes to great lengths to help her when she finds herself in danger and begs Hooten to aid her.

Desperate to escape the pressures that the wedding preparations bring, Alex is eager to help Hooten who finds himself stuck in a Russian prison while searching for a lost Fabergé egg. Along the way she confronts her nemesis, while Hooten meets up with his mentor.
