Northwest Passage

S1, E4: James Cook becomes obsessed with finding the Northwest Passage to secure Britain's tea trade. Pushing through Arctic ice, the journey proves too much for his ships, forcing him back to the Pacific. In Hawaii, after tensions rise, Cook takes a chief hostage, leading to his death on the beach. His final, ill-fated voyage ends the career of a man who became an icon of the British Empire.
