Arts Centres Keep Our Elders Connected
This short film invites the audience to listen to Elders, artists and staff from three Aboriginal community-controlled art centres as they share the vital role they play in keeping older people, many of whom are Elders, strong and connected. We hear how Elders are the backbone of these centres, playing a critical role in maintaining intergenerational connection and how in turn the art centres play a role in keeping older people and Elders connected to their communities and Country. Elders, artists and staff share their perspectives on why art centres play such a vital role for them and their communities, and emphasise the importance of recognising and resourcing the art centres to keep playing this vital role.
