China Love

China Love takes us on a wild journey into the warmth of the family web in China into the hearts of the characters and into their personal dreams with an understanding of why and where these aspirations come from. The film explores China's new position as a globalised country from its restrictive and highly traditional past - through the window of its booming wedding industry and asks what is the new China Dream when it comes to love. China Love takes us on a billion-dollar ride of fantasy exploring contemporary China through the window of the pre-wedding photography industry. The film is a feature length observational documentary which follows Chinese and Australian participants as they navigate love, weddings and family in the lead up to the most important ritual of Chinese society - getting married.
