Jean-Jacques is a gawky inventor living with his all-too-perfect girlfriend, Ariane, in a hip Parisian apartment. One afternoon, at a café, Jean-Jacques listens in on the boastings of a nearby diner, who claims that he can convince any woman to agree to a fleeting tryst by giving them a romantic note. When Jean-Jacques inadvertently gives the irresistible note to an attractive woman, she excitedly gives him her number, inviting him to a party. After discovering the woman's number in Jean-Jacques' phone, Ariane is pragmatic: with designs on being a modern couple, Ariane convinces Jean-Jacques to pursue the mystery woman. So begins a night of mistakes and hilarious misadventures. Written and directed by "the French Woody Allen" Emmanuel Mouret, Please Please Me is a hilarious and deliciously awkward comedy about the nature of modern romance.
