Under the masterful direction of Pedro Almodovar, Volver follows three generations of women who survive every day through their goodness, the occasional lie and boundless vitality. Raimunda (Penelope Cruz) is a struggling mother who holds down several jobs to support her unemployed husband and teenage daughter. When the ghost of her mother suddenly appears, long repressed family secrets surface and it soon becomes apparent that things may not be what they seem. Spontaneous, warm and endearing, Volver is a celebration of womanhood and friendship.
