Earl becomes offended when he is not invited to Joy's wedding, which falls on his birthday. He ends up becoming drunk and crashing the party, breaking Joy's nose in the process.

Earl tries to repair his broken relationship with his father, as he nominates him for mayor. Earl chooses to re-nominate him after accidentally messing up his chances of winning the last time he ran for the position.

Earl faces a battle with government bureaucracy when he tries to make up for not paying taxes, and his efforts to atone leave him on the wrong side of the law; Randy buys a moped.

Earl tries to make up for sabotaging a cat show to increase Joy's chances of winning. He attempts to return a prize-winning cat, only to find that Randy is interested in its owner.

In order to be able to cross off the first item from his list, Earl must surrender the entirety of his lottery winnings, realising that he owes his victim more than the $10 he took from his wallet.
