Claudia Doumit

Australian-born Claudia Doumit had her heart set on acting from the time she was very small; her earliest memories of performing involve her putting on her mother's go-go boots and lip synching to ABBA songs for her parents. Doumit was in high school when she discovered a structured outlet for her impulses in the form of extracurricular drama classes. The classes allowed her to skip math class, which she eventually failed, but Doumit was hooked on acting. She even secretly dropped out of college partway into her freshman year so that she could quietly attend classes at Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Arts, Actors College of Theatre and Television, and The Actors Centre Australia instead. At 19, she came clean to her parents and gained their support to pursue a professional career on screen in America. After landing a few minor appearances on "New Girl" (Fox, 2011-) and "Mike & Molly" (CBS, 2010-16) in 2016, in addition to a three episode arc as an aide on "Scandal" (ABC, 2012-), Doumit landed an audition for a sci-fi series called "Timeless" (NBC, 2016-). She did not know it at the time, but she was personally auditioning for Erik Kripke, the creator of her absolute favorite series, "Supernatural" (CW, 2005-). Her blissful ignorance removed much potential nervousness from the situation and Doumit won the part of Jiya on the series.
