Following her father's removal from the office of town sheriff, high-school student Veronica Mars finds herself ostracised by her peers. She comes to the aid of Wallace, a new arrival to the school who is fast becoming a victim of bullying.

Veronica smells a rat after Duncan wins the election for school council president, and investigates possible fraud. Logan creates a PR mess for his parents.

With Wallace and Mac's help, Veronica investigates a series of bomb threats made at Neptune High. Keith comes clean about his recent dating habits and Duncan confronts Veronica.

Veronica helps a grieving family figure out whether the death of one of their members was a suicide. Wallace comes to the aid of a transfer student, and Keith is asked to consider running for sheriff.

Despite her best efforts to live a `normal' life, Veronica is drawn back into the business of investigation after Wallace returns a positive test for drugs. Keith has a hard time dealing with his popularity.

After reuniting with her mother, Veronica must find Neptune High's kidnapped mascot in time for an important basketball game. Her suspicions about the Kane family reappear.
