Erin Richards

British actress Erin Richards enjoyed showcase roles on several popular U.K. fantasy series, including "Being Human" (BBC Three, 2010-2013), before landing a major role in American television via "Gotham" (Fox, 2014-), which followed the origin of Batman, as well as his allies and foes. Born in the town of Pernath, Wales, she received her training at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama before earning her first break as a presenter on the teen-oriented magazine series "Mosgito" (2009-2010) for the Welsh-language network S4C. From there, she made guest appearances on various BBC programs before earning her first major acting role, as a police detective investigating the three supernatural heroes of the popular dramatic series "Being Human." The popularity of that program led to her American TV debut in the Adam Sandler-produced comedy "Breaking In" (Fox, 2011-2012), starring Christian Slater. Following that series' abrupt cancellation, Richards returned to the UK, where she landed recurring guest roles in various popular genre series, including "Merlin" (BBC 1, 2008-2012) and "Misfits" (E4, 2009-2013), as well as supporting turns in the American independent horror film "Open Grave" (2014) and "The Quiet Ones" (2014), from the revived UK horror studio Hammer Films. That same year, she was announced as a cast member for the highly anticipated "Gotham," which followed the lives of the main characters in the Batman franchise prior to their emergence as adult heroes and villains. Richards played emergency room doctor Barbara Kean.
