Dr Devon Pravesh begins his first day as an intern and quickly learns the harsh realities of medical care. Meanwhile, resident Conrad Hawkins shows off his unconventional ways of treating patients.

Conrad receives a long-awaited call when a heart becomes available for a patient in desperate need of a transplant, but when the plans are derailed, Conrad risks everything to make matters right.

Conrad gets a visit from an old army buddy at the hospital. Meanwhile, the team is challenged when they must save the life of an uninsured patient.

Conrad accidentally delivers a death message to the wrong family and sets out to correct the mistake; Nic has problems finding a patient's medical records previously under Lane's care.

As the commencement of the annual Purge night looms on the horizon, some citizens find themselves travelling into the chaos of the night.

Conrad unwittingly makes the situation more difficult when he defends Nic after she becomes a suspect in the investigation of Lily's death; during a low-risk procedure, Bell's patient catches on fire.
