JD rethinks his relationship with his interns when Dr Kelso tells him he will inevitably treat them badly. Carla accidentally gives Elliot an odd nickname at her new job. Dr Cox prevents Turk from warning Jordan about a con man.

JD's error leads an elderly woman to select Dr Cox to help her with her treatment. A patient with terrible pain stumps Elliot and Turk. Carla attempts to gather the uncooperative staff for the annual group photo.

JD's decision-making skills are put to the test by Dr Cox. Elliot learns about how things work at her new hospital, but she still feels more at home at Sacred Heart. Turk continues to give Carla birth-control pills without her knowledge.

Dr Cox deals with three medical mysteries. Carla starts to show symptoms of postpartum depression. JD attempts to be the best boyfriend ever so that Kim won't leave town.

JD intends on having lunch with Dr Cox, but is thwarted by an annoying former patient who teaches him about responsibility. Elliot and Carla find out that Todd has been exaggerating about his hospital conquests.

Elliot's interns start to reflect badly on her, forcing her to crack the whip with them; the janitor sabotages JD's video-diary project, which was to have been a gift to his mother.
