Jim Hardie is assigned to ride shotgun on a stagecoach that was held up carrying a valuable cargo of gold, but has to contend with a driver who thinks he can handle any outlaws he meets all by himself.

A rookie outlaw holds up the stage carrying cash that Jim is waiting for, prompting Jim to go off looking for the thief, but he finds he needs the criminal's help when the two must evade an Indian attack.
