Earl tries to amend for an unethical sports wager on a high school game that deprived his brother, Randy, of a chance to score a touchdown.

Earl asks for help from Joy's former nemesis to win a beauty pageant trophy for Joy to make up for the one he broke, but she wants to remain on Earl's list so that he owes her a hot tub.

Earl becomes offended when he is not invited to Joy's wedding, which falls on his birthday. He ends up becoming drunk and crashing the party, breaking Joy's nose in the process.

Earl tries to make up for all of the thoughtless gifts he gave to Joy during their marriage. But he runs into an issue when he learns that Joy's father still believes them to be married.

Earl builds a pen for the Right Choice Ranch's new ostrich in order to make amends for burning down a barn many years earlier.
