The Doctor and Sarah find themselves back in England where a frightening stillness indicates that all is not well.

The time-travellers realise that the Earth they've landed on is not quite what it seems, as the Kraals, an alien race, plan to wipe out the human race with a virus.

The crew are shipped off to the Waxworld theme park, via Kryten's matter transport system. There is trouble with the wax droids, and the gang are forced to try and stop Elvis, Gandhi and Stan Laurel.

The heroes find themselves in a village where everything is a little unusual, including the calendars.

The craggy Kraals unleash their plan to wipe out the human race. The Doctor and Sarah try to them with the help of their old friend, Harry Sullivan.
